Born on this day, Giancarlo Fisichella, Italian who has driven in Formula One for Renault, Sauber, Jordan, Benetton, Minardi, and Force India team, with 3 wins and 19 podium finishes.Fisichella got his first chance by Minardi, initially as a test driver for 1995 while he was racing for Alfa Romeo in the DTM and ITC. For 1996 Giancarlo Minardi promoted him to F1 driver and the next season the Italian was rented out to Eddie Jordan. He scored a stunning 2nd place on his first visit to Spa, only beaten by Michael Schumacher. 1998 brought a switch to Benetton and 2nd places at Monaco and Canada and the same result in 1999 in Montreal. Moving back to Jordan in 2002 but as the team was by then struggling for money he was frustrated until the start of 2003 when he pulled off an impressive, albeit fortunate, victory in Brazil.
