The rules regarding MOT retests in the UK changed. From this date if the vehicle remained at the test station for repair after failure then it could have a free retest for up to 10 working days. If removed from the premises for repair and then returned before the end of 10 working days it could have a test at half the original fee paid. After the 10-day period a full fee could be charged again. The next-day free retest for certain failure items was still in place although some items have been removed from the list (such as headlamp aim).
